First Lady in Waiting Kim Still

Ah! That mystery lady behind the pageantry, our own version of the mighty OZ who pulls the strings behind the royal velvet curtain.

But who is she?..and will she take a bribe?
You betcha. Kim Still is one of those miracle worker types who manage to do it all. This spring marked her seventeenth season as Saturday Market manager and her 13th as the First Lady of Slime (Kim is the mastermind who has orchestrated the Slug Queen Coronation since 1994, the year of Marionberry Slugan). But does she tire? wither under the pressure of up holding two of Eugene’s finest institutions?
Never. In fact Kim Still STILL manages to blog about Saturday Market weekly and even shoots her own photos. http://eugenesaturdaymarket.blogspot.com/

Now that’s what I call an Alpha Slug.

Of course Kim doesn't do it alone. She is one of an excellent team of three full time Market managers, ten Saturday workers, and several hundred Market members... As she likes to say "it takes a village to make a Market!"

And a village needs a queen...and a bunch of philanthropic old queens... and one seriously hard working First Lady in Waiting doesn't hurt either. Word of advice: if you happen to be in the business of buttering palms don’t forget a little bribe for the silent Queen behind the curtain.

Little known slug factoid: Kim Still built the head of the traditional SLUG float that's in the parade back in 1992. She recalls, "That was one long, hot, sticky summer!" The perfect conditions for markets, gardens and slugs.
